How much I hate painting
Spent my weekend painting one little room. It is my little sitting room, but it has a chair rail, which required taping, a white floor molding, we left the ceiling white - what a painting nightmare - and I'm not a great painter. The walls required two coats of primer - to cover a rather ugly shade of green, and over damage to the paint on the upper part of the wall when we stripped off wallpaper. It was about 10 hours of work and I ended up today with a tiny paintbrush, trying to fix my mistakes. Paint over where the chocolate brown meets the white chair rail, slop brown onto the white - get the white out, slop it over onto the brown. You get the picture. I finally gave up. But, I am still pleased with my little chocolate retreat. The only bad thing is that Ellen's quilt doesn't go with the colors - but I'll find another way to display it.

And, we've decided to get granite remnants to replace a hated kitchen counter top - but leave the cabinets alone. I'd like to replace the cabinet pulls, but we'll see. Little by little, we'll get done what we want. I had a five-year plan in Cheyenne, which I accomplished in about six years. I guess we'll have a six-month plan here.

Hey, I liked the green. It wasn't ugly! :) I agree with you on the whole painting thing. I hate painting. That would be why I only have accomplished painting one room in my whole house since we moved in.
