Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

One of the things I will miss the most about Washington D.C. is the Shrine. It is a fabulous, outstanding and wonderful Basilica. I remember several years ago, when I went to the CPA convention in DC, and I vowed to not leave without seeing the Basilica. It has been such a gift to be able to go there weekly or at least twice a month. I've tended to go there for lunch and a quick prayer. If I can, I've caught the noon Mass, but the timing hasn't always been right. Anyhow, on my final trip to DC on Thursday, I indulged in photos of this place that really captivated my imagination and enlivened my life.
