First real snow of the year fell yesterday. Paul rejoiced, as school was cancelled. The little birdies really appreciated my feeding them; I started about a month ago, and it took them 3 weeks to discover the feeder and invite their friends - now we're getting house sparrows, doves, juncos and this morning I saw a cardinal. Of course, the real culprit behind scattered feed is shown below, the squirrel. I'm sure they are convinced the feed is for them, but they are merely the beneficiaries of my love of birds. As the trees around here are littered with squirrel nests, I'm sure we'll be seeing their offspring this year. Oh well, at least the little rats with tails are entertaining.
