OK, is this the cutest granddaughter in thewhole world, or what? Hannah's gymnastic studio had a demonstration day, so Paul and I drove over on Saturday. It is a very pleasant drive. All the grass is green, the flowering trees are beautiful. The garden centers are open - there is hope for the future!

I brought back my birthday present from Ellen - a composter. Green enough for you? I don't even know if we'll be here in six months to harvest the compost, although I suspect we will, but it will be a great experiment. I'm going to do a couple of raised beds, not open up the ground. I can do the raised beds by myself, but the digging is simply beyond me. Had a gardening service out for an estimate - $500. Way too much for a rent house. Here we go, starting small and seeing how it goes.
