Well, we're down to the last of this semester. Just two weeks left after we come back from Thanksgiving break. Wow. The semester has gone by very quickly, it seems to me. I still have one large paper to write, and a couple to revise for a course on creative non-fiction, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I don't have a final in either course, which is great.
After showing the photos I took of Paul and his friends wrestling, the coach asked me to shoot the rest of the kids, so I'll do that on Saturday. It's been a mixed season for Paul - his first time wrestling. I think as time goes on, he'll learn the strategies to get points; right now, he basically goes out and muscles the opponent to the ground, so if it ends up in a point situation not a pin, he tends to lose. But, I do think he's doing pretty well, overall.
Not much else. After the coyotes came for the chickens again, the chickens are pretty much on lock-down. I've done some research on coyotes, and the fellow who is in charge of the "fur bearing" animals for the state tells me that it is probable that there are twice as many coyotes here now than there were 15 years ago. That explains a lot. Hoping a hunter friend can at least kill the one that's been coming into the yard. I'm not normally a vindictive person, but I have to draw the line to protect my babies.
