My how time flies....

Only one more class in each of my classes this semester. Overall, it has been a relatively painless semester, with two good professors and interesting classes. I have one remaining term paper to turn in for Renaissance Self-Fashioning and 60 pages of the novel, which is pretty much ready. I am, however, anticipating a tough summer from May 23 to the end of June, due to a class on Spencer, Milton and Chaucer, and Orientation and Enrollment. Next fall, I'll be finishing my thesis which is "Modern Westerns and the Legacy of the Past" and I'll have two difficult classes Old English (which I am dreading, quite frankly) and a seminar on Victorian Women Writer, which should be demanding, but interesting. Then... Who knows!

The darned raccoons are at it again - this time knocking over the can of bird seed which is, by the way, right outside the bedroom window. They are fearless creatures. So, yesterday, I bought more birdseed, bungee cords and I placed heavy rocks in the bottom of the can, filled it with birdseed and bungee corded it to the picnic table on the porch. The top was originally held down with three bricks, and I added a bungee cord to that, too. My luck will be that they know how to operate bungee cords...

For several nights, I've been hearing a new owl outside the window. It turns out to be a Barred Owl, which I discovered by using the cool thing we have that plays the sounds of various birds. I haven't heard the Great Horned Owls lately - I wonder if the two owls don't get along.
