Cemetery just outside Westfall where Stonebrakers are buried.

Uncle Earl with Rosa and John Stonebraker graves.

Grandma Twibell's grave - she lived from 1858 to 1961 - I even remember her.

Rosa Fitzwater Stonebraker was born in 1872 and died in 1956, although Earl thinks is should be 1957, and John was born in 1878 and died in 1952.

Adam Stonebraker and Sarah, who originally settled in the Westfall area in the 1880s. Adam's date of birth is 1844 died in 1919; Sarah was born in 1858, and died in 1932.

Uncle Earl told us a story about Grandma Twibell. When she was small, they lived in a dugout, and there were still Indians around. When her father had to go to town for supplies (a two day trip) he'd NAIL THEM INSIDE THE DUGOUT and go as fast as he could. And we think life is tough if we don't have cable tv. Apparently there were also still some buffalo around, and they would come by and ruin the garden. Uncle Earl said Grandma Twibell was a kind woman. I just remember being in awe of someone that old.

Grandpa Fitzwater served in the Civil War and was wounded. You'll see that there is a flag on Adam Stonebraker's grave, and he served in the Civil War also and received a pension. Uncle Earl said that he suffered from malaria off and on.
