Short hair
I did it. I'd been growing my hair out, for reasons that remain unclear to me, and I really hated it. It was hot and heavy, and I had to wear a headband to keep it out of my face and off the back of my neck. I thought it looked sloppy quite a bit of the time. It was a huge decision for me, and again, I don't know why. I just woke up one day this week and said, "I'm cutting it off." Even then, I still called Ellen to fuss about it. I know short hair isn't quite in vogue any more, and I was still unclear, even at the hair dresser, what I wanted to do, and then another hairdresser went by with cute, short hair, and I said "that's it, I'm doing it." The new hair stylist did a good job after I went through the picture book of potential hairstyles.
I guess men may not realize what trauma it is to find a new hairdresser. Finding a good place to get a haircut is a huge part of moving into a new area. Even though I've resolved that "it is just hair" it's still a great trauma.

Oh, I can't wait to see what you cut you got!
Ah, that wasn't right....
It should read, I can't wait to see what cut you got.
Which still sounds odd but it seemed okay in my head when I wrote it...
