Washington's Victory Trail

To take advantage of a nice, warm December day, Paul and I went up to the Princeton Battle Monument, because there's a trail there where George Washington marched through the area during the Revolutionary War. We walked through the woods for 45 mintues or so, circuling the Clark House on the monument. Once time, we were walking through the woods, no signs of habitation except for the trail, and I looked up to see the house through the trees. It was a moment when you can imagine being alive 200 years ago, seeing the house and going to see if you could get supplies, or spend the night in the barn. (I've been reading historical fiction lately.) I am frequently remined of the history of this area. Of course, I forgot the camera, but I'll post photos some other time. It was just a nice afternoon - particularly considering it is 12 degrees in Wyoming with the wind blowing.

Speaking of historical fiction, I discovered an author named Stephen Lawhead, who wrote a book called Byzanthium set around the year 900. What a great book - it is a novelty to find a book that shows respect for Christianity; the main character goes through a spiritual journey and a journey from Ireland to Constantanople and back. Worth the time to read it.
