I see I've put up 162 posts in since starting the blog. When I was talking to a friend recently, I said it was uplifting to look over the posts, because one only posts the positive aspects of life. It is a good antedote to feeling sorry for oneself - as if you live a life of only trips and visits to family. Actually, somehow, it isn't a bad way to look at life. Denial has been a good friend of mine for many years :)
I was trying to tell Paul today about how there are specific times in a person's life that stand out. It is odd, it isn't always the worst times, nor the best times, but somehow, the memory seems to summarize the "truth" of a moment in your life. I'm sure someone has studied the aspects of memory - why something is imprinted, and not another incident. One time that really stand out for me is when Paul was seven months old and his father had gone off to an alcohol rehab facility, and when I returned home from dropping him off at the bus station - I was singing. I looked at Paul's face in his little car carrier, and he looked startled. I realized he'd never heard me sing before. Now, that is sad; and perhaps a moment to remember.
