Quick update on last week. Had a grand time and it was a real privlege to see Bishop Ricken at the USCCB convention here in Baltimore. I talked my way into getting a press pass to cover the Mass of all the bishops in the Basilica here. It was cold and windy - weird that there were swat teams and such in the background - but there had been protests and maybe even threats against the bishops. Anyhow, I was able to quickly say hello to Bishop Ricken just prior to the Mass - he was suitably surprised - and then I interviewed him afterward, as I did several other bishops, about the Basilica. The next day, we gave him a tour of the offices and I was able to pick him up and drive him through the scenic section - Mount Vernon - to the office and show him where the paper is put together. At dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as he told stories and did impressions and was so charming. Our production supervisor, who isn't even Catholic, was excited to meet him and most impressed when she did. I'm proud to say that Bishop Ricken is my bishop - and he has a great reputation nationwide among orthodox Catholics.

Knowing of his love of art, I told Bishop Hart about the Walter's Art Museum here - I'd be interested to find out if he visited the museum.
