Wishing all of you (the two that read this) a Holy All Saints Day! Went to Mass at St. Alphonsus today, which reminded me to post information about this wonderful parish. So, go to www.stalphonsusbalt.org to see this lovely, "pre-Vatican II" parish. It is just so CATHOLIC - it is ornate, beautiful, full of statues, stained glass windows, with high, vaulted ceilings. At least two people who have been named saints have worshipped there - St. Neumann and Mother Seton. I was reminded strongly how good God has been to me - to bring me to the Church, nurture me and give me so many blessings like my family and children, my job and the skills I bring to the job.

While I'm making links, the entire special section for the Basilica remodeling is on line at www.catholicreview.org. Click on the section at the top for on-line edition, and then go to the Oct. 26 issue and find the basilica section. So far, its the best coverage I know of on the web. Very different church - intended to give an "American" republic viewpoint. Making a break from European Church architecture. But St. Alphonsis goes back to a Gothic European model. Someday perhaps I'll study architecture, as it is fascinating.
