Ellen reminded me I haven't been posting photos from my morning walk; well, I've been gardening instead, and seem to end up doing misc. minor farm errands in the a.m. But this morning, I went out.

The sunflowers are beginning to bloom, so I'm planning on a series of sunflower photos - it is the Kansas state flower, after all ... and the bottom one I call "abundance." This might require a little explination, but if you look, the hay barn is stuffed full, and The Man has round bales piled up in a nice, neat, farmer row. And in the front, a nice crop of soybeans. It is really the fruits of his labor, not mine, but it is still a good image of the result of hard work.

I found an amusing and heartening blog http://www.raisingcountrykids.com/ She is a columnist for a paper in Montana, and on the side, she has posted her most popular blog posts. She's very funny, and I feel less alone in the life if interpreting what my task should be, based on about half the information I need.

However, today, I had to fetch him from a field, and he was most specific about my instructions, including the distance I had to travel, which was very helpful. It makes a difference if you have to turn in 7 miles or a half mile, in terms of that vague feeling of panic that sets in when you haven't seen your turn and figure you screwed up somewhere along the line.
