This pretty well summarizes the content of this posting ... I'll mention that I was wearing my gardening clothes when Ellen prepared to leave to head to the airport on Saturday, and we just hustled over for the photos. I tried to hide, but it really didn't work :)

On another topic:

I had my final class today for the summer. I enjoyed the class, really like the professor, Michael Donnelly, who has a real love of literature and a great sense of humor, although I dread his "passage recognition exams" where the students are give about 20 passages from works we've read without an indication of the author, and we're supposed to eloquently comment upon the passage. This is harder than it seems ...

But there's a certain rite of passage at the end of a class, where I place the books on the bookshelf, store my notes, and prepare for a little time off. In this case, our next chore is the Pottawamie County Fair.
