Battle of Monmouth reinactment was held today and yesterday. It was very interesting to me, as I've read a bit about the battle. It was a turning point in the Revolutionary War. In keeping with the tone of the original battle, it was exceedingly hot and humid. We had all the kids, and near the end of the battle, we headed out so Simon could go to a birthday party, but I was about done and I thought the kids would be caving in fairly quickly, so it was fine to leave early. The fence in the bottom photo was partially knocked down during the battle, and it was so funny because Seth was very concerned about the broken fence. He seemed rather oblivious to the guys in the funny uniforms, although he was impressed with the loud booms of the cannon, but he was most upset over the broken fence. He let me hold him up so he could see the battle. It is great - usually he's most impressed with Paul, not so much with me :)

Wow, your garden is looking quite lovely! You should definitely join their gardening club.

Don't forget, Grandma got to fix the ouchie Seth got on his head. He loves his Grandma.

It was neat to see the reenactment. Even if Seth spent the whole time saying, "Fence broken!"

Oh, you went! I've always wanted to ... but I fear the crowds. How are the crowds? And parking?

Well, all before Mr. Corzine closes the state parks, eh?
