Winter visitors -

My favorite kind, the birds. I have to confess that I was rather surprised to see a meadowlark (lower photo) strolling around in the yard. I love meadowlarks and their cheery songs. And the top photo, I'm calling "Coming in for a Landing." But another confession, I'm not sure what type of bird this is. A warbler? You'd think, with this kind of marking, it would stand out in the bird book, but I'm uncertain. In any event, they love the thistles. I've had some woodpeckers at the suet, and Blue Jays come around. I missed my little birdies when they were out in the fields this fall and I'm glad to have them back.
