Home again.

We're home again - The Man was waiting at the airport to pick us up Friday. Everything went as smooth as humanly possible.

On our last day in NJ, Daniel took the whole crowd (except Seth) to see the movie Avitar. I was all prepared to be skeptical - I'd heard the plot was thin (it was), but the special effects were so startling and wonderful it made no difference. The bad guys were predictably bad, the good guys extremely good, the right side wins. I'm not giving anything away here - you can see the entire plot unfolding in about the first 5 minutes of the movie. But it is still so wonderful in the 3-D. I guess we can suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the scenery - what does that say about our capacity for critical thinking? Don't take a young child to see it - it is rather violent and the 3-D might very well be disturbing to a child. But still, a very emotionally and visually satisfying movie.
