Took a little trip down to the "Twin Lights of Navesink" - a lighthouse on the northern Jersey shore. I don't have a long-distance photo, but the lighthouse is actually two towers (as one might guess from the name) and the whole edifice looks like a fort. The views from the top of the tower shown above (you are 200 feet above sea level!) are magnificent, including New York off in the distance. We stopped at a pizza place somewhere along the road back for a nice little jaunt.

It's a favorite place ... and an easier climb than Barnegat Light. My most recent pictures are here. The history is so awesome.

I had planned to take the kids just before Labor Day Weekend but they didn't want to. :-( They weren't even tempted by the news that the bridge was under construction ...
