Arrived in Kansas!
Hello all - we've arrived in Kansas and all is well. Due to the diligent packing of my daughter and excellent help loading, we were able to leave about 7 p.m. on Thursday night, and drove that night to western Pennsylvania, to beat the holiday traffic out of the eastern seaboard. I'm really glad we were able to leave early. The Man pressed on with the trailer, and Paul and I slept for a few hours, and then left the next a.m. We caught up with him in Kansas City, after a long 15-hour day, and then followed him in the next three hours to the farm. I had no idea I could drive 18-hours straight - I guess it depends on your motivation :)
We are pretty much unpacked and moved in and I'm ready to begin work on the garden. I can't upload any photos yet, but I did get some of Paul on the lawn tractor for the first time today, and he's made a trip to the creek which he said was most enjoyable. The little dog is exhausted at the end of each day, from following me around, or following Paul around, or (only once) chasing a barn cat. If they can survive bobcats, the little dog doesn't represent much of a threat.
I'll tell you, I've never seen as a hardworking individual as The Man, and he praised Ellen for her hard work - high praise indeed.
More to come as we settle in. I'll upload photos when I can, but I can't do it yet.
