Wheat harvest

In another "go figure" moment, The Man has Paul helping him load wheat that was just harvested into this planting thing (who knows the proper name? Not I) so he can plant the seeds again. Now, I just don't know where I thought wheat seeds for the next harvest came from ... the farmer's co-op? but it just didn't occur to me that the wheat could be re-planted. Hmmm ... chock this up to another "A Real Country Girl Would Know This Stuff."

Oh, and I learned another thing. I just never thought for a second what straw was and what separated it from hay. Not for a second. Turns out that there's wheat straw (the left-over stalks of wheat) and other the stalks of grains can be used as straw. But not corn. Corn is ground up for cattle feed. Now, that I knew. Don't ask me why.
